Slow worm

Anguis fragilis

Legless lizard, often taken for a snake.

It is a reptile. It is not a snake: it is a legless lizard. It likes damp places, under woodpiles, and it lives a long time. It eats insects and other small prey and usually lives 10 to 30 years.
